“We lost the match with simple mistakes.”

The coach of Fenerbahce Ulker, Neven Spahija, says they have lost the game although they have played well throughout the game. According to him, Anadolu Efes had much more concentration than Fenerbahçe Ülker despite of being recessive during the game. Being dominant mostly in the game, Fenerbahçe Ülker had too much self confident in the last minutes, which made them make simple mistakes.

On the other hand, it was Anadolu Efes that managed to take the advantage of that bad condition of the rival. Their patience and discipline had a great role in this miraculous winning.

“According to statistics, we, as a team, have been better and I’m glad that my team has done their duty unless we consider the result of the game.” says Coach Spahija and adds “I’m happy with the my players’ attitude towards the league. They take it serious and train very well. We just need more patience and must be ready mentally”

James Gist, Fenerbahçe Ülker player, stated that they had well- prepared for the game but they couldn’t maintain the advantage of being the leader of the game because of making silly mistakes.

NBA PLAY-OFF TIME

As a basketball fan, I admire NBA so much. But this season I had to wait impatiently because of the lock-out. Although it was a big disappointing situation, it became a nice opportunity to see NBA stars, including Turkish ones, in Turkey Beko Basketball League, since some players transferred in Turkish teams and performed their skills here. Finally, lock-out finished and the players returned to their home to make us sleepless.

The first 66 match-period of the season, which started late because of lock-out, is over in American National Basketball League (NBA). NBA, in which our six representatives struggles, the teams that our three basketball players takes apart have succeed to play in PLAY-OFF.

 

Turkish basketball lovers have the chance to see the Enes Kanter, playing in Utah Jazz, which has the highest winning percentage among the 16 teams, Hidayet Türkoğlu, playing in Orlondo Magic and Ömer Aşık, playing in Chicago Bulls. Milwaukee Bucks, in which Ersan İlyasova has been very successful, has lost the chance to struggle in PLAY-OFF.

A social responsibility Project by Anadolu Efes

Anadolu Efes Club is going to build a basketball pitch in Aksaray for the 35th anniversary of foundation.

The club has stated that one of the new social responsibility Projects will be carried out in Aksaray within the 35th anniversary activities.

In the statement, it was said that the manager Ömer Yalcinkaya had been in touch with Süleyman Arısoy, the manager of Aksaray Youth Services, for the basketball pitch to be built in the Aksaray Covered Swimming Pool. In addition to this, it was stated that the pitch would be in service and the young would get benefit from it starting from May.

Süleyman Arısoy said that basketball was admired by Aksaray youth intensively and the basketball players of the future would start playing their first games in this facility and this would realize thanks to Anadolu Efes. So, Süleyman Arısoy appreciated the club for their support. After the meeting, Ömer Yalçınkaya gave a uniform of Anadolu Efes Club as a gift.

 Oğuz Savaş has broken his foot A broken leg or foot has been always a disaster for sportsmen, because these are the utmost assistants for players after the brain. So, here is bad news for Fenerbahce Ülker: Oğuz Savaş, playing in Fenerbahce Ülker has broken his foot in training. The club has stated that Oğuz Savaş has ricked his ankle in the second training in the afternoon and he has been taken to the hospital immediately. The medics have reported that he has two broken bones in his foot. Nevzat Yuksel, the team medic of the team, has said that Oğuz Savaş has break in 5th metatarsal bone and the treatment has started. I hope he will recover and turn back as soon as possible, as the PLAY-OFF games are about to start.    

Hello Backboard fans! This week, the 29^th week of the Beko Basketball League, was not so good for Fenerbahçe, since Anadolu Efes won the game with a few scores, 69-67. That’s why, it was a competitive match. Fenerbahce Ulker was the leader of the game until last four minutes of the match, but Anadolu Efes didn’t lose the concentration and did well to beat Fenerbahce Ulker. The game was in Anadolu Efes’ home arena Sinan Erdem, so they were granted support by their fans.

The most scorer player of the game was Oguz Savas with 19 scores.

Although Fenerbahçe lost the game, they ensured to play in Play Off games.

The teams that has finished the league in the first eight will be opponents of Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce Ulker’s last game of the normal season is against Tofas at Fenerbahce Ulker Arena this weekend.

Fenerbahçe Ulker 83-90 Anadolu Efes

Anadolu Efes won Fenerbahce Ulker 90-83with a good play. The game took place in Caferaga Sport Center because of the punishment Fenerbahce got.

This match was declared as the opening game of the new sport center of Fenerbahce, Sport Complex of Fenerbahce Ulker Arena but Fenerbahce Ulker got punishment because of the bad events happened in Galatasaray Medical Park match, so it took place in Caferaga Sport Center without any audience.

Efes was the side that dominated the game until the the begining to the end so they won.

The match's the most scorer player was the Curtis Jerrels from Fenerbahce but the good play of Kerem Tunceri was enough to win.

Fenerbahçe Ulker beat Bennet Cantu

     Fenerbahce Ulker basketball team beat Italian basketball team Bennet Cantu 85-83 in Turkey.
     The normal time of the match ended 73-73 draw, stopage time was so tough but Fenerbahce Ulker won.

     First period of the match started with the unsuccessful shots. FB got scores with the free throws of Thabo Sefolosha. Bennet answered with Marconato and Leunen. Omer and Vidmar started to score. The first period ended 17-19.
   
      At the beginning of the second period FB started to press at defence and started to be dominant but at the end of the second period Bennet Cantu was ahead.

     The second half started really fast. Bennet became more dominant with his tall players. At the middle of the period Fenerbahce Ulker again started to defence more effective and got a series 6-0 and After the period FB was 4 points ahead.

     At the last period FB organized the offensive plays with Emir Preldzic. Defence with press's result was the lead by 9 points. Italian team called for a timeout, after the timeout they became more doninant at offensive plays with Girgi Shermadini. They make the play slow down. They melted 9 points and made the score 67-66. The score was 72-70 when 21.9 seconds left after that Bogdanovic got a free throw then while the tşme was ending Bennet got a 3 point shoot with Mazzarino. That was the end of normal time. (73-73).
   
     Fenerbahce started with the free throw scores of Omer Onan the stopage time. Fenerbahce played well after that and at the end of the match they lead 85-83.
